Our Contemporary Practices Photography Certificate is a comprehensive program that leaves students with a holistic understanding of photographic art practice. Students become adept in lighting, post-production, printing, presentation strategies, history, and criticism. There are options to focus on specific areas such as documentary, portraiture, and fashion. With close mentorship from working professionals and support from the faculty, students fulfill their goals. The program is a perfect opportunity for students to experiment and challenge themselves to try new ways of working.
Students may enroll in the certificate program at the beginning of any semester, and will be evaluated in each course on a pass/fail basis. Students must complete the program within four years of enrollment. After the completion of coursework, students have up to one year to present their final work. The final exhibition will be held in PPAC’s hallway gallery.
The cost of tuition is $4,995 (includes portfolio reviews with a mentor, academic advising, and assistance with the final exhibition). Tuition can be paid in full or installments.
Students will have an opportunity to meet with their mentors for a total of 10 hours during the certificate program.
